Anxiety and panic attacks are an increasingly common part of the teenage emotional landscape and can be a cause of worry and unhappiness to all concerned.
The forthcoming talk in UCD, given by Enda Murphy, a psychotherapist and author of “Five steps to Happiness. Learning to explore and understand the emotional mind.” will help you understand the causes of anxiety and offer you clear ways to help those teenagers in your life who are trying to cope with it. The talk is entitled “From Bungee jumps to Panic Attacks”. If you’re the parent of a teenager or work with teenagers, the title of the talk might resonate with you as it describes the often mystifying shift from high spirits to panic or anxiety.
Enda Murphy is a regular contributor on ‘Today with Sean O Rourke’ on RTE radio. He is Assistant Director of the Health Service Executive GP training scheme and a member of the faculty with the Centre for Global Health Delivery, Harvard University, USA.
